How to Find Us

From Stromness drive to Kirkwall and follow signs for South Ronaldsay/Burwick (A961).  Follow this road past the village of St Margaret’s Hope for 2 miles.  Then take the road on your right which is sign posted Sandwick/Herston.  The single track road heads towards the bay then turns sharply uphill.  You will see West Shaird straight ahead on your right.

From St. Margaret’s Hope/Gills Bay ferry follow the main road to the junction at the top of St. Margaret’s Hope.  Turn right onto the A961 which is signposted Burwick. Follow this road for 2 miles, then turn right (sign posted Sandwick/Herston).  This single track road heads towards the bay then turns sharply uphill.  You will see West Shaird straight ahead on your right.
